ImagiNations: unknown infantry regiment

I've spent the last couple of weeks finishing up an unknown infantry regiment for the an unknown state in our ImagiNation world. My lovely daughter-in-law purchased these figures from Front Rank and I purloined them from her stash to continue getting a head-start on her army (you can see the previous efforts here).

We continue with the national colours of blue and orange and I was much helped in this by ordering some custom standards from Flags of War. They are quite lovely and I even received a freebie sheet of flags from them in the order. Well done Flags of War!

First post-move additions

Having completed the recent move and set up the new (old) painting desk, I went straight to work on some outstanding additions.

First up are some Big Men and characters for my Sharp Practice 2 French force...

Two Big Men from Warlord Games that can be used with either my Young Guard or infanterie légère units, although mainly intended for the former. I particularity like the officer with his arm in a sling. The standard bearer (also for the infanterie légère ) is from Warlord Games and the drummer from Front Rank.

I've also made a start on a new ImagiNations unit for Mel's unknown nation, testing the colour combinations and basing scheme...

These figures are from the lovely Front Rank WSS collection. They are quite a joy to paint, mainly because of the exaggerated folds and depth of the sculpting. For some, they are too bulky but I'm firmly in the camp of amplified features. And what can be better than the layers of curls on the officer's wig? Another 16 figures to go to complete this unit.

New Command Centre

The move is almost two weeks gone and I've finally set up the new Command Centre. Much more room than previously allows me to have more than one project on the go at any given time. Time will tell if that's a good thing...

Since this photo was taken a few days ago, the desk has figures in progress littering the surface. Amongst the first, are some ImagiNation infantry and cavalry, and some Portuguese cacadores for Sharp Practice 2. I need to get cracking to maintain my normal monthly points output...
